Getting rid of HFS partition...

Greetings,

I have been running openbsd (-current) on my ibook g4, dual booting
between obsd and mac osx. But I have been using less and less of osx.
I want to completely get rid of the HFS partition and reuse it for
obsd.

If I understanding this correctly I should be able to run `fdisk -u'
and newfs the wd0i? I don't have experience mucking with fdisk so I
want to be sure I'm not going to screw up my current obsd set up.

Any words of wisdom from pros would be greatly appreciated.

hi,
just do a new install and choose the mbr method and
"Do you want to use *all* of wd0 for OpenBSD?" [y]
in the installer and you are done .

That's definitely one way of doing it :)

Hi Patrick,

There is a chance that using newfs on the HFS partition might render
OpenBSD unbootable - it might be worth looking at the standard install
script to see how that prepares an mbr on macppc:

http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/src/distrib/macppc/ramdisk/install.md?rev=1.38

I look forward to reading about your adventures :~)
