Getting rid of HFS partition...Greetings,
I have been running openbsd (-current) on my ibook g4, dual booting between obsd and mac osx. But I have been using less and less of osx. I want to completely get rid of the HFS partition and reuse it for obsd. If I understanding this correctly I should be able to run `fdisk -u' and newfs the wd0i? I don't have experience mucking with fdisk so I want to be sure I'm not going to screw up my current obsd set up. Any words of wisdom from pros would be greatly appreciated. --patrick $ sudo disklabel wd0 # /dev/rwd0c: type: ESDI disk: ESDI/IDE disk label: SAMSUNG HM100JC flags: bytes/sector: 512 sectors/track: 63 tracks/cylinder: 16 sectors/cylinder: 1008 cylinders: 193821 total sectors: 195371568 rpm: 3600 interleave: 1 trackskew: 0 cylinderskew: 0 headswitch: 0 # microseconds track-to-track seek: 0 # microseconds drivedata: 0 16 partitions: # size offset fstype [fsize bsize cpg] a: 306832 97685888 4.2BSD 2048 16384 1 b: 2097648 97992720 swap c: 195371568 0 unused d: 409248 100090368 4.2BSD 2048 16384 1 e: 409248 100499616 4.2BSD 2048 16384 1 f: 62914320 100908864 4.2BSD 2048 16384 1 g: 16777152 163823184 4.2BSD 2048 16384 328 i: 97423680 262208 HFS I'm not quite sure what exactly the following is telling me: $ sudo fdisk wd0 Disk: wd0 geometry: 193821/16/63 [195371568 Sectors] Offset: 0 Signature: 0x0 Starting Ending LBA Info: #: id C H S - C H S [ start: size ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0: 0 ] unused 1: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0: 0 ] unused 2: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0: 0 ] unused 3: 00 0 0 0 - 0 0 0 [ 0: 0 ] unused |

Re: Getting rid of HFS partition...hi,
just do a new install and choose the mbr method and "Do you want to use *all* of wd0 for OpenBSD?" [y] in the installer and you are done . regards tim patrick keshishian schrieb: > Greetings, > > I have been running openbsd (-current) on my ibook g4, dual booting > between obsd and mac osx.
