Gimp2.6 not starting in Vista (g_asii_strtoull cannot be located in dll libglib-2.0-0.dll)

Hi
How can I fix this error with wind.exe (& then if close out of this many other .exe error message boxes pop up also)to get GIMP to start in Vista please?
(I saw a message on sourceforge help on this but noone had replied-so unhelpful! Perhaps someone else has posted a solution here but I have looked and cannot find it?!).
