Gnu - Hello

Search:
This forum is an archive for the mailing list: bug-hello@gnu.org (mailing list options). Messages posted here will be sent to this mailing list.

The GNU Hello program produces a familiar, friendly greeting. It allows nonprogrammers to use a classic computer science tool which would otherwise be unavailable to them. Yes, this is another implementation of the classic program that prints 'Hello, world!' when you run it. Unlike the elementary version often seen, GNU Hello processes its argument list to modify its behavior, supports greetings in many languages, and so on. The primary purpose of this program is to demonstrate how to write other programs that do these things; it serves as a model for all of the GNU coding standards.
