Makefile for building the snacc compiler

Hi,

I am trying to write a makefile for building Snacc 1.7.

I am able to build the cppasn.dll and cppasn_static.dll,

But in case of esnacc.exe I am not able to compile.

I have pasted the makefile, batch file and the output.

Please, help me out.

soloBitCheck parameter problem

I have compiled ASN.1 spec for CSTA II on Windows using SNACC 1.6.

The generated cpp functions use a soloBitCheck function which seems to get
created like this:

This is an example in AsnLen MonitorFilter::BEncContent (AsnBuf &b) const

The line with soloBitCheck does not compile. Get errors:

csta2less.cpp(3165) : error C2143: syntax error : missing ')' before '::'
csta2less.cpp(3165) : error C2660: 'soloBitCheck' : function does not take 0
parameters

Something is missing?

How do I edit the code? Should it be sizeof(VoiceUnitFilter) ?

How can I fix?

Parsing errors on CSTA II asn file

Hello

If I run this command using SNACC v1.6 on Windows

esnacc -C CSTAp2.asn
CSTAp2.asn(187) : parse error at symbol "CSTA-alternate-call"

Parsing errors---cannot proceed

The file CSTAp2.asn can be downloaded from here:

This is a standard asn.1 file so why does it not work? What do I need to do
to file for it to compile?

How to convert sample from c output SNACC 1.3 to SNACC 1.6 output cpp

I am attempting to convert a sample on sourcefourge called CSTATest. It has
this function:

CSTATest is using ASN.1 spec for CSTA II and SNACC v1.3

I tried using SNACC v1.6 to generate C code but I cannot find anywhere
NEXT_REQUEST. I realise this is more a CSTA question but I am wondering how
important the NEXT_REQUESTID qualifier is. I cannot find all the headers
for CSTATest and cannot compile so cannot find NEXT_REQUESTID anywhere.

Anyone have any suggestions?

How to get started with eSNACC cpp and CSTA II

Hello

I have created cpp files using eSNACC v1.6 and the asn.1 from a CSTA II
spec. I have managed to compile and link the generated c++ files but now
how do I get started.

I want to write code to talk CSTA II to a toshiba PBX. I can set the PBX to
output CSTA II to an IP address. ie my server. But how do I start?

Anyone got any example code?

Also when I compiled from the asn1 spec I chose the -d decode option. I
assumed this meant I could decode CSTA II data? But thinking about it I
also want to be able to send commands to the PBX - eg dial a number. Will I
then need to use encode functions?

Hello

I am getting a lot of these compile errors:
error C2259: 'PublicTON' : cannot instantiate abstract class due to
following members: csta2less.h(1755) : see declaration of 'PublicTON'

Class is like this:
class PublicTON: public AsnType

generated .h file:
AsnType *Clone() const;

generated .cpp file:
AsnType *PublicTON::Clone() const
{
return new PublicTON(*this);
}

There are LOTS of these clone functions in lots of other classes which cause
this problem. I am running eSNACC v1.6 on Windows platform.

How can I manually edit clone function so it compiles ok?

Ignore my previous - recompiled and now works ok. Now got parse error

Hello

Now I am running:
esnacc.exe -C -d csta2.asn1
csta2.asn1(501) : parse error at symbol "GraphicString"

Parsing errors---cannot proceed

line 501 in the file is like this:
GraphicString ::= [UNIVERSAL 25] IMPLICIT OCTET STRING

Any ideas why this is a problem?

Program too big to fit in memory error

Hello

I am running this command:

esnacc.exe _C -d csta2.asn1

and getting error:
Program is too big to fit in memory

I am running version 1.6 of eSNACC and operating system is Windows XP.
About 600MB free memory when run command.

The asn1 file is 83k in size.

What can I do?

Using eSNACC with CSTA II

Hello

I am new to all this and will be working with CSTA II on a Toshiba PBX.
Toshiba have not supplied an ASN.1 specification but apparently they use
CSTA II. Does this mean all I need do is get the ASN.1 spec for CSTA and
use that.

For example, I downloaded from www.ecma.ch the file Ecma-285-asn.txt readme
say about this file:

This file, derived from ECMA-285, 2nd edition, contains the ASN.1 source
file that can be used with many industry compilers.

Also this is for CSTA III - should that be OK. Couldn't find equivalent
file for CSTA II.

In addition, there are other files:

- acse_user_info_csta2.txt - This file specifies the "CSTAFunctionality"
parameter type that is defined in ECMA-218 (CSTA Phase II Protocol). It
needs be
compiled with the above file (See clause 8.2.2 in ECMA-285).

- rose94.txt - This file specifies the Remote Operations ASN.1 definitions.
It
may be required by come compilers that do not provide the Remote Operations
definitions automatically.

Do I need these?

Do I simply compile the Ecma-285-asn.txt file using esnacc and opt to
generate C++ files? Is it as simple as that? If not can someone point me
in the right direction?

Problems compiling eSNACC v1.7.4

Hello

I am running Microsoft Visual C++ v6. I loaded "./SNACC/snacc_builds.dsw"
and attempted to build. Everything works fine until I get error below:

--------------------Configuration: compiler - Win32
Debug--------------------
Performing Custom Build Step on ".\core\parse-asn1.y"
'bison' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
Error executing c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe.

So I thought maybe I need to install bison. I downloaded and installed
Bison for Windows and added bison to path. I can run bison from the command
line ok but still get the above message.

I even downloaded and installed flex - but made no difference.

I tried to find the line which calls bison but can't seem to find it.

Can anyone help?

regrading complie of C++ program

i complied on SNACC and genreated .c and .h and wrote one c++ program that use members of .c and.h files that r genrated by snacc complier but iam new to SNACC. iam unable to complie the program .can any one tell how to complie and where to complie the programs.

Sample ASN.1 code using snacc generated classes

(I have generated snacc autogenerated cpp and .h files. ).

Skipping unrecognised tags

I have an application which needs to be made forward compatible.
Basically my application needs to ignore/skip pdus received with unknown
but valid tlvs that are not in my asn1 definition of the pdu
Example:
I expect a pdu consisting of a SET of the following tags <tag1> <tag2>
<tag3>
My application receives the following
<tag1><len1><val1><tag4><len4><val4><tag2><len2><val2>

Currently the decoding fails as follows:

break;

default:
Asn1Err("Unexpected Tag on SET elmt." );
longjmp (env, -113);
} // end switch
} // end for loop

The question is how can I ensure that the decode does not fail but
merely skips past the unknown tag (<tag4>) in the case above

error while instalation

I am very new to this field.

I have downloaded the snacc 1.3 compiler. But now able to install it.

Its giving error.

The error is as follows.
