<p>Kawa is best known as a Scheme implementation for the Java platform. It compiles Scheme to java bytecodes. It is also a general framework for implementing dynamic languages, and includes a full implementation of XQuery and the beginnings of implementations of Common Lisp and Emacs Lisp (JEmacs).
