Gossip is unable to connect to google talk.

Hi,

hope my question is not to vague, but I am using Gossip on my laptop
which runs Fedora Core 6, and when I am at home, I can not connect to
Google Talk or any other jabber server. All other network services
works just fine, and gaim and gossip works just fine. Any ideas how I
can start debugging this? I do not run a personal firewall, but the
appartment building I live in has blocked some of the popular p2p file
sharing ports.
