Got a question

My cat keeps running out the front door when I open it up.  She doesn't run away but it is very annoying to have to fight with her every time I open the door.

Also my cat jumps on the kitchen counter all of the time.  I have tried everything I know and she still does it.  The more I get on to her the more she does it behind my back.  What do you suggest.

Any ideas anyone?

If your cat doesn't run to far from home then every time she runs out  make her stay out for awhile.  Then she will notice that every time she runs out she has to stay out side.

As for the jumping on the counter problem just put two sided tape on  the edges so every time she jumps up on it then she will get stuck.    She will soon understand that  jumping up on counters results in having to get out of two sided tape.

Well about the running out the door,  maybe if cat has a favorite treat that is not messy you could give her the treat every now and then to distract it when you go out the door.  It just might become habit to wait for the treat inside and not bolt out.  But it could backfire though and when the cat hears you going out the door she could come flying around the corner to get the treat when she might not have done before.

Now for the counter problem since that more of a random thing the treat solution might not work.  I have no idea besides greasing the counter.  But i wouldn't recomment this because it could get kind of messy but it depends how desperate you are.. good luck  cmath.
