I have now finally set up a real web forum for Graph support as a
replacement for this mailing list.

The new forum may be found at http://www.padowan.dk/forum

The main reason for the change is that the mailing list for some periods
has been haunted by spam. I hope that this can be avoided in the future.

Also, many people don't want to use a mailing list because it reveals
their email address. The new forum will not reveal your email address,
unless you explicitly allow it.

The new forum supports RSS feeds, which makes it easy to monitor the

There is no specific support for neither Open Office nor Microsoft
Excel. However Graph can be embedded in any OLE client, which includes
Open Office and Excel.

The worst possible combination: negative y-values, AND through (0 , 0), AND
user-defined Fits, AND I only downloaded the program 3 days ago...

It sounds very strange. Do you get an error message when trying to start
Graph?
You can try to uninstall Graph first and then reinstall it. Uninstalling
will remove all settings in case it is a corrupted setting that is
causing the problem.

Graph wont start?

Yesterday I tried to fit some ugly datapoints to one of the advanced fits. No
succes. (I got some kind of error-message). And now Graph wont start at all.

"Uncaught exception with message: Func32::EParseError"

I tried downloading graph again. No success.

Any ideas?

You can plot this as f(x)=ifseq(x<0, 2, x<1, 3*x, 3.5)

1. Do your axes use radians (and not degrees)?
Check by going here: Edit -> Axes -> Settings -> Trigonometry

2. Remember to use x as the variable and not t or Theta.

3. Please provide an example of a curve which you are trying to draw.

I am trying to graph an electrical sine wave based on the general expression

"y=A sin(Theta). Without values, I just get a straight line. I tried using the

complex form [for instantaneous voltage value- v=V(sub P)sin(2pi*f*t)-V(sub P)

is peak voltage], but I either don't know the proper syntax. or don't understand

the math well enough.

When I enter values for the variables, the program will not recognize the units.

How do I graph a sine wave w/ actual curves, instead of a flat line?

I am a little unsure what it is you are asking? You can change the label
shown for the axes in the Edit|Axes dialog.

Currently there is no easy way to do this. However it should be possible
when I get Graph 4.4 finished.

Yes, but I don't know how much easier it is. You can create two custom
functions:
RotateX(x,y,phi)=x*cos(phi)+y*sin(phi)
RotateY(x,y,phi)=-x*sin(phi)+y*cos(phi)

Now you can use them to rotate any function.
If you have the function x(t)=sin(t), y(t)=t^2 you can rotate it pi/4 by
creating a new function:
x(t)=RotateX(sin(t), t^2, pi/4), y(t)=RotateY(sin(t), t^2, pi/4)

I have attached a file that shows this.

Yes, is there any option/function that can do this automatic for me? Because I

1. I have inserted an elipse using a parametric function f = f(x(t), y(t)) and I
would like to rotate by some angle (let`s say "phi").
I know I can do it like that f. = f.(x.(t), y.(t)) where x.(t) =
x(t)*cos(phi)+y(t)*sin(phi), y.(t) = x(t)*(-sin(phi))+y(t)*cos(phi) but I`m in a
situation where I have to rotate many elipses and the angle values are very very
exact (many digits)

Function -> Insert Function
Put the function you want in the "Function equation" field.
Click OK
Calc -> Area
Put in the lower and upper bounds of the integral
Now the area under the curve is shown.
