Those of you who have been tormented over past weeks by my endless questions can take heart.  I have documented the learning experience.

"Gadget: Building a Compound Widget with GtkAda" is on-line at AdaSafeHouse.webs.com.  Follow the links to
GtkAda Programming -> Examples.
So, the next time someone like me is pestering, send them there.  It isn't perfect, but it should help.

BTW:  I have another project in mind, so it's not over yet. :)

Thanks

Dear Duley,

Thanks for the informative article - I must confessed I've stumpled upon a couple of your 4-5 year old GtkAda mailings which helped me a lot.

Regarding the article you're linking, I think it would be appropriate to clarify the difference between Glade, Gate and GtkAda. Correct me if I'm wrong, IMHO there's no such thing as "Glade-code", It's either "Glade XML markup" or "Ada code using GtkAda generated via Gate from a Glade XML-file/project". I couldn't find any reference to Gate within your article.

I'm working on a (partial) GtkAda binding for GtkBuilder, which eliminates the need for generating code (unless one wants to). Both the GtkBuilder and Gate variants read Glade XML files, which is the reason I think such a clarification should be made.

Kind Regards
