Hi,

I want to make an update in the SYSTEM CONFIG file but I get the following messages;

link * cf1 cf1 mr
Ready; T=0.25/0.33 10:42:53
10:42:53 HCPLNM101E DASD 0CF1 forced R/O; R/O by SYSTEM; stable by SYSTEM
Ready(00101); T=0.01/0.01 10:42:53

How can I solve this problem.

Hi,

We should NOT be having this discussion on this list.

The MAINT CF1 did not exist in VM/370 so obviously he is running an
illegal release of VM.

These discussions are perfectly fine.  I have a LEGAL version of z/VM running with IBM's permission on SUSE/Hercules.

Hello!
(Was on vacation when this came up. I am responding now.)
Paul, the fact that your system is quite legal, and that you have IBM's
permission to do this is also fine with me.

If anyone has a problem with that simple fact then please feel free to
contact me, but please do so off list.

Please realize that any of you who is not doing so, that is, you do not have
permission of IBM, and in your country, may and probably will end up being
contacted by them. Eventually that is. The jury is still out on this
subject.

(We all know who complained and loudly and rudely regarding Hercules,
several years earlier. But that individual is no longer resident on the main
Hercules list. I will leave out the issues concerning what happened to him
and his firm for another list. And another time.)

If anyone has any other issues, or questions, please bring them to the
Advocacy list.
