HELP! fc5 + radius + mschap2. plz!

this is my first attempt at radius ( attempts so far ).
i need windows xp clients to connect to a LINKSYS WRT54GX4 AP with wpa.
ive installed freeradius via yum (fc5), enabled the APs security and
pointed it to the radius server ip. i've setup the client windows xp sp1
to use mschap2 and not send the windows network credencials as login...
and... im stuck here.

i added to clients.conf

client 192.168.0.4 {
        secret = tequila
        shortname = j2
}

changed eap.conf
default_eap_type = mschapv2

changed radiusd.conf

Auth-Type MS-CHAP {
                mschap
        }

to much info !!!!
PLEASE HELP!
how can i know what radius is doing?
are the requests arriving? how to troubleshoot?
