Kielblock Observers: Bob Claussen, Kurt Zimmerman, Matt Domanski, Tom Vouglas Visitors: Jon Levin, Carol Southerland, J. Miller, Jessica and Bill Wild, and great Scott's Observer Mike Hiotis. Weather: Temp.=60-65F., Wind=SSW 0-4 MPH., Humidity = 56%., Barometer=993mb., No clouds. Raptor Observations: A slow but OK day until the Dark Phase Rough-Leg, spotted by Matt Domanski, flew by low and clear. Some hooting and hollering followed--yours truly. Non-raptor Observations: Prior to the RL a Black-Headed Gull flew by, landed, flew again, and was photographed over and over again by the 'Bird Paperazzi'. We had another sighting of Black-Headed Gull here on 11/4/09. Very exciting stuff. Merrill Creek Reservoir just keeps giving!! The day concluded with a Merlin--flew into the dead tree behind us carrying a bird--feathers flew like watching a pillow fight--afforded great views. Wish you were here. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Henry F. Kielblock (hlkiel@...) BIRDHAWK is sponsored by HMANA.
