Hi,

I think you should have heard about HTML 5 having <video> and <audio> tags.

"HTML 5 was initially said to become a game-changer in Web application
development, making obsolete such
plug-in-based<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plug-in_%28computing%29>
rich
Internet application<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rich_Internet_application>(RIA)
technologies as Adobe
Flash <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Flash>, Microsoft
Silverlight<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Silverlight>,
and Sun JavaFX <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JavaFX>.[1]<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTML_5#cite_note-0>Such
applications would be made obsolete by specifying a standard video
codec for all browsers to use. "

This was the piece from wikipedia which says all the browser might have a
common codec.

I am not sure if it does play the video by itself but if it does then is
HTML still a stateless protocol or is it now a stateful protocol??
Because it will be knowing the state of start, pause, stop etc., I am not
sure...
     Can anybody help?

thanks,

SMS
