Hi,

I’m trying to get Thinstation to work on Dell Optiplex GX270’s.  I used TS-O-Matic to create PXE boot files.  Everything goes fine until it gets to “Thinstation Init Script”, and then it hangs.  I’ve tried this on various 270’s, and all seem to have the same problem.  Is there anything I can check to find out why this is happening?

Your initrd is screwed up. How did you transfer it to the TFTP server?
FTP? Remembered to switch to binary transfer?

Ok, so I've got it to the point where it will get past the Thinstation init script.  Now it says DHCP server not found, and halts.  I noticed that Thinstation didn't include the e1000e driver by default.  So, I downloaded that and added it.  This is a Dell Optiplex GX270 with a Pro 1000/mt network adapter.

Is it possible that Thinstation isn't waiting long enough for DHCP to reply?  Tomorrow I will try a static IP.

Is that a dual port NIC? Make sure to connect both ports. Also try the
e1000 driver (without the trailing "e").
