Hardware performance counter support for ARMv6Hello List,
I am new to Oprfile. I have following queries. Please help.
1. Does Oprofile support profiling (hardware performance counter) for ARMv6?
2. If not, how this support can be enabled in Oprfile? Please suggest some references.
Thank you for help.
Regards,
Arabinda

Re: Hardware performance counter support for ARMv6Hello,
Thanks for reply,
I am trying to use Oprofile on S3C6410X based target. I am using Linux kernel version 2.6.21 and have compiled kernel with following configs.
CONFIG_PROFILING=y
CONFIG_OPROFILE=y
CONFIG_OPROFILE_ARMV6=y
CONFIG_OPROFILE_ARM11_CORE=y
However, when I boot the target it shows following info.
....
....
oprofile: using arm/armv6
oprofile: using timer imterrupt.
...
...
I want to use the hardware performance counters for profiling NOT timer interrupt.
Am I missing something?
Is there any issue with kernel version?
Please help.
Thank you.
Regards,
Arabinda
