The wife I are headed to the '10 Isle of Man TT for the first few days or racing. We have a bike, a ferry ride to IOM, & back (to Ireland) and a place to stay in Douglas only a few minutes from all the TT festivities.
Racing starts on the ~ June 5th.
It was kind of a PITA to set up logistically. Stays shorter than a week are not taken as kindly as week to "fortnight" guests. I did manage to find 5 places for a short stay, but then I had to get a ferry ride to IoM. There aren't many choices - www.steam-packet.com. My goal was the Superbike, & sidecar races, and any supersport / superstock races that went on while there. Unfortunately I couldn't find a ride for the days I wanted, so I had to go back to all the lodging folks and make sure my new dates were acceptable. Done. The hotels on the IoM are $$$$$ expensive and doubly so because they use the Pound. OUCH. We scored a B&B for much less. The bike was the easy, if expensive, part. So we're leaving the last w/e in May, 2010, get some sightseeing done in Ireland, head to the TT, come back, celebrate birthday over there and head home.
