I'd like to ask y'all if you have any experience using headsets and if you
can recommend one. I'm currently testing a Plantronics wireless headset and
it certainly is great in many respects ... Except ... I don't think the
voice quality is very good. It sounds a bit fuzzy, as though I am talking
over a long-distance telephone line. I expected it to be clearer. Anybody
have any recommendations?

Pat

Plantronics USB Headset, which is not wireless, but the quality is great.

Another vote for Plantronics USB. I use one all day with MacSpeech Dictate
and it is very good.

I have a USB Plantronics headset as well. It works great. I'm usually
sitting at my desk, so the cord (which is plenty long) is not a big
deal. It comes with a USB adapter which is needed for amplifying the
microphone. The boom microphone easily swivels out of the way, when
you don't need it. It seems well made. Mine also has a volume control
knob on the line, and a mute/low/high switch for controlling the
volume of your voice.

I use a Logitech USB headset. Very good sound in the headset, and the
listener on the other end says mic sounds like my voice is "in their head"
;-) Pretty inexpensive, too.

I ended up getting a Logitech USB headset which cost about 1/6th what the
Plantronics wireless one was and the voice quality is EXCELLENT.

I'll just have to  live with the tether.
