Hearing loss and Anesthesia

Hello,

I am writing you with regard your post in 1996.  I have a four year old child who has suffered hearing loss after a general anesthisa.  What have you found with regard to your question since?  Are there anything we can do to help alleviate this situation?

I am wondering if anyone has seen cases of hearing loss following general

anesthesia. What has been the timeline of onset? Also, have any cases been

treated medically with any success?Does anyone know of cases associated

with

middle ear surgery ?  Does anyone know if a fluctuating sensorineural loss

can result from complications of anesthesia?  How about complications from

extreme rotation of the neck during surgery?
