Help for install please?

I have the latest version of wine, but when i try to install Assassin's creed using it, it tries to load then crashes with no error message.

Can someone help me with this please?

I have the d3dx9_36.dll added in the system32 folder aswell.

I read through that site and just got more confused. Which terminal code do i use in order to get the game installed?

First of all what Wine version?

It seems you have broken your ~/.wine directory. Remove / rename it. Make sure it is gone and repeat the install. MAKE SURE to always run Wine as your regular user and NEVER as root.

Thanks i deleted the wine folder and remade it with a backup copy, and got the game installed now, however i have the disk in and when i load it up to play it says please insert the correct dvd, it only came with 1 dvd and it's already in.

It uses copy-protection that doesn't work on Wine. Use a "no-cd" patch for the game.

Also don't forget to check AppDB for any relevant HOWTOs.

I downloaded a no-cd patch but when I try to extract it comes up with needing a password. Is there a way to bypass this?

I tried my password and that didn't work either.

You've downloaded wrong patch, try finding another one and don't forget to
check it for malware (at least with ClamAV)

Ok I'm not too sure how to run the program in terminal, but I tried something and got this message:

wine: could not load L"C:\\windows\\system32\\AssassinsCreed.exe": Module not found
