Hercules DASD file question

I use (and like) shadow files with my emulated DASD packs on Hercules.  Is there a utility or any way to "move" the contents of the shadow file "into" the base file?

Looking at the Hercules documentation I saw no way to do this but perhaps someone can point me in the right direction?

Thanks, Bob

Topic 6.86 - Labeled "Remove a  Shadow File".  Maybe the title could be
better!

Ah ha!  I was expecting it to be a stand-alone utility.  Serves me for not reading the ENTIRE manual :-)

I thought I added a command to VM/370 enabling issuing commands to hercules... It might be HCP... anyway, you can issue SF+, SF-, SFC, etc. from VM.

I use this method to create a baseline to backup from linux using tivoli...

At 2AM I add a shadow, this tivoli backs things up, then I delete the shadow afterwards.

This leaves me with a complete backup at the 2AM time...

I had not thought of that.  Very cool.  One of these days I will reread the Hercules documenation from start to finish...
