...Johnny Davis. Sorry I've been so long in getting in touch, but it's literally taken me until last week to get properly diagnosed for the pain in my hip and leg that sidelined me last spring. An MRI turned up three levels of my lumbar spine with prolapse discs that are touching the spinal column.
Unfortunately, my first physical therapist misdiagnosed me, and so my therapy had been increasing my symptoms until recently. I've got a fair amount of pain in all of the joints as well as some increasing neurological deficit. We're going to try and avoid surgery, since the outcomes after two years are the same for most folks who don't get it. Instead, I'm going to have injections, which will hopefully lessen the pain and inflammation enough to allow physical therapy to resume.
I'd love to think I'm coming back to Eugene Shaolin, but this may be it for me. If that's the case I'm really bummed, because the last place I trained at was probably the best.
You guys are a great outfit, and I'm glad to have been a part of it, however briefly. If I can beat this and develop my lumbar musculature enough, I'll be back. Until then, I hope you don't mind me staying on the Nabble Alerts.
Best of luck in this weekend's tournament. I'll be grading essays on the pros and cons of the Reconstruction Era. But on the inside I'll be yelling "Jiayao!" like I'm positively bugf**k.
Peace,
Johnny
