Charset iso-8859-15 decoding in imp/dimp or php issue?

I have an email message that is not being decoded correctly by imp/dimp. The mail message with headers can be downloaded here (I have obfuscated the text) and can be appended to your /var/mail/<user> file:

If you open the file in mutt (mutt -f mailmessage), you will see the text that includes "the quick brown fox..." information. If that mail message is opened by Horde/Imp/Dimp inline, that text is not shown. If you click to view the HTML in a new window, you can see the text, or of you click to select the "unnamed" attachment, you view the text. If viewing it inline, however, you don't see the first message and instead it starts with the "All the best..." text. This is shown correctly using mimp by the way. Why is the "the quick brown fox..." text not shown in-line for this message?

Currently running on Fedora 12, using php 5.3.1.

Not sure what you are trying...
Do you want to sync two different Horde/IMP server or are you looking
for a solution to sync Horde/IMP with some aother devices??

Synchronizing of Horde from One System to Another system under the same network.

Hello Sir,

I am planning to implement Horde in my office and I am facing some
problem with that. How do I synchronizing the Calender & Task of Horde
from one system to another system? The synchronizing has to be in such a
way that once if anything is updated in the calender it has to reflect
the entire calender of the other system. I would be grateful if you
could help me out in this. I am using Mozilla Thunderbird as my web mail.

Sieve UTF-8 fileinto (russian)

Hello all,

Ingo-sieve converts non-latin folder names into IMAP UTF-7, which
doesn't work with dovecot.

Google says folder name must be in UTF-8 as well. I tried manually
correct the script:

}

Modification works! I believe that ingo converts folder names to
workaround Cyrus bug.
1) Is there config parameter to tell ingo-sieve to use UTF-8 for fileinto?
2) If not, can someone help me to patch sources? I tried to change
sieve.php:2554

{
//return 'fileinto "' .
Ingo_Script_sieve::escapeString($this->_vars['folder']) . '";';
return 'fileinto "' .

It doesn't work. It looks sieve.php receives already converted folder name.

The only occasion where i have seen something like this was with
big-sized mail from a network using a comercial firewall with some
advanced security feature enabled. This lead to a stall connection if
SACK (selective Acknowledgement) where used at some point of backlog.
As the remote side had no interest in finding out the root-cause this
is all i can say about.

UTF-8 characters in attendee name creating problem

Hi,

I have installed Horde Framework Version 3.0.

I am creating an event where in I have selected 2 users. One of the users has UTF-8 characters in name (e.g., Ólafsdóttir).

The event is getting created but in the month view it is showing flowing warning.

"Warning: array_change_key_case() [function.array-change-key-case <https://calendar.asite.com/kronolith/function.array-change-key-case> ]: The argument should be an array in E:\horde\kronolith\lib\Driver\sql.php on line 932"

Also If I view the event, attendee list is empty.

Following is the event_attendees database entry in kronolith_events table for the same.

Here s:48:""Hrafnhildur Ólafsdóttir,Asite Solutions Ltd." Seems problematic as it should be s:46 instead of s:48.

I corrected it and updated database then it started working, warnings gone and attendees getting displayed. But little problem still exist. Instead of "Ó" in Ólafsdóttir, it is showing me "?", i.e, ?lafsd?ttir in attendee list.

Can anyone help here?

I am still struggling with this. I have used wireshark to trace the session
when uploading a file. In the trace it works fine for a while and then I get
TCP DUP ack failures. Eventually the upload times out.

When transferring from the xp machine on the same network, its all green, no
issues, no failures as above.

I have disabled autotuning of the connection in Windows 7 as per this page.

I have also played around with the mtu size, however , no joy.

Does anyone know anything else I might be able to try?

Above regexp requires '$', '$', '\+', '\-' combinations, not '(', ')',
'+', '-'. In mail header there's nothing with escape characters as far
as I could see.

The messages were clearly sent by yahoo servers. So if yahoo is not
able to prevent their users form choosing as sender what they like,
yahoo is to blame.

This looks like TCP/IP problem and there is nothing Horde/IMP can do
about it. The latest Microsoft OS are now using "modern" TCP/IP
features like window-scaling,SACK and MTU-discover by default and
there are still broken routers/firewalls around which choke on this.
This is the most supektable reason because as you said all browsers
fail on Vista/7 and work and XP/2003.

You have to use some TCP-dumper to see what is going on.

Attachments on Windows 7/Vista

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else had come across issues with Windows 7/Vista
and uploading attachments when composing an email?

I am able to reproduce the error on a number of Windows 7 machines, using
Chrome, IE8 and Mozilla.

When uploading the attachment, it just times out after around 5 minutes.

I am however able to attach files from an XP machine, Server 2003, Ubuntu.

I have been testing each time with the same 4mb file.

I cannot find any errors in my apache log files / horde.tmp file that might
explain what I am seeing.

My version of horde/imp is Groupware 1.1. I accept this is quite old, but I
cannot find anything on the mailing list that points to this having been
fixed in a later version.

As said in a earlier post you have to configure a source in
/var/www/html/horde/turba/config/sources.php

Why are you using a shell script to login to imp? IMP wasn't designed

I could'nt find a script in /var/www/html/horde/turba/scripts/sql to create a
turba DB. I had to use turba.sql and I think it was created without problems.
I'm using postfix and dovecot. I am not using LDAP.

Let me explain it another way:

For sure you can include as many fields as there are on this planet
but you have to do a choice. Many times the fields are named different
and the number differ from client to client. This is getting ugly if
do SyncML with different clients and mobile devices. So if you have
for example the stupid Outlook schema email1, email2, email3 you have
to somehow map this to the more widespread homeemail, workemail for
example and choose a "default" mailadress.
Therefore every solution which is not Outlook only will only include
the basic set of fields because unpleasent surprises for non Outlook
users will follow otherwise.
