Hello all,

Ingo-sieve converts non-latin folder names into IMAP UTF-7, which
doesn't work with dovecot.

# Sieve Filter
# Generated by Ingo (http://www.horde.org/ingo/) (16.12.2009, 01:37:09)
# RussianFolder
     stop;
}

Google says folder name must be in UTF-8 as well. I tried manually
correct the script:

if header :comparator "i;ascii-casemap" :contains "Subject" "бла-бла"  {
     fileinto "РусскаяПапка";
     stop;
}

Modification works! I believe that ingo converts folder names to
workaround Cyrus bug.
1) Is there config parameter to tell ingo-sieve to use UTF-8 for fileinto?
2) If not, can someone help me to patch sources? I tried to change
sieve.php:2554
     function toCode()
     {
         //return 'fileinto "' .
Ingo_Script_sieve::escapeString($this->_vars['folder']) . '";';
         return 'fileinto "' .
String::convertCharset($this->_vars['folder'], NLS::getCharset(),
'UTF-8') . '";';
     }
It doesn't work. It looks sieve.php receives already converted folder name.

I have installed Horde Framework Version 3.0.

I am creating an event where in I have selected 2 users. One of the users has UTF-8 characters in name (e.g., Ólafsdóttir).

The event is getting created but in the month view it is showing flowing warning.

Also If I view the event, attendee list is empty.

Following is the event_attendees database entry in kronolith_events table for the same.

Here s:48:""Hrafnhildur Ólafsdóttir,Asite Solutions Ltd." Seems problematic as it should be s:46 instead of s:48.

I corrected it and updated database then it started working, warnings gone and attendees getting displayed. But little problem still exist. Instead of "Ó" in Ólafsdóttir, it is showing me "?", i.e, ?lafsd?ttir in attendee list.

Can anyone help here?

>>
>>> Hi All,
>>>
>>> I use latest webmail groupware edition and dbmail-timsieved.
>>> After saving vacation script I had regex strings looked like:
>>> --
>>> if header :regex "Received" "^.*(2009) (\\(.*\\) )?..:..:..
>>> (\\(.*\\) )?(\\+|\\-)....( \\(.*\\))?$"
>>> --
>>> in my sieve database which obviously doesn't work.
>>
>> What's obvious about that?
> Above regexp requires '\(', '\)', '\+', '\-' combinations, not '(',
> ')',  '+', '-'. In mail header there's nothing with escape
> characters as far as I could see.
>
>>> It's returned by _yearCheck and similar functions which have 4
>>> backslashes in a row in return strings which causes this. Not sure
>>> if it's required for correct behavior with other sieve
>>> implementations but with dbmail it only works if I replace '\\\\'
>>> with '\\' in above functions.
>>
>> Then dbmail is broken.
> Jan, I really appreciate and like your product but maybe first
> explain before claiming?

Uh, why me? You claim that this is incorrect syntax without any prove.
But since you asked:
>
>  Hello,
>>
>> I was wondering if anyone else had come across issues with Windows 7/Vista
>> and uploading attachments when composing an email?
>>
>> I am able to reproduce the error on a number of Windows 7 machines, using
>> Chrome, IE8 and Mozilla.
>>
>> When uploading the attachment, it just times out after around 5 minutes.
>>
>> I am however able to attach files from an XP machine, Server 2003, Ubuntu.
>>
>
> This looks like TCP/IP problem and there is nothing Horde/IMP can do about
> it. The latest Microsoft OS are now using "modern" TCP/IP features like
> window-scaling,SACK and MTU-discover by default and there are still broken
> routers/firewalls around which choke on this.
> This is the most supektable reason because as you said all browsers fail on
> Vista/7 and work and XP/2003.
>
> You have to use some TCP-dumper to see what is going on.
>> Hi All,
>>
>> I use latest webmail groupware edition and dbmail-timsieved.
>> After saving vacation script I had regex strings looked like:
>> --
>> if header :regex "Received" "^.*(2009) (\\(.*\\) )?..:..:.. (\\(.*\\)
>> )?(\\+|\\-)....( \\(.*\\))?$"
>> --
>> in my sieve database which obviously doesn't work.
>
> What's obvious about that?

Above regexp requires '\(', '\)', '\+', '\-' combinations, not '(', ')',
  '+', '-'. In mail header there's nothing with escape characters as far
as I could see.

>> It's returned by _yearCheck and similar functions which have 4
>> backslashes in a row in return strings which causes this. Not sure if
>> it's required for correct behavior with other sieve implementations
>> but with dbmail it only works if I replace '\\\\' with '\\' in above
>> functions.
>
> Then dbmail is broken.
Jan, I really appreciate and like your product but maybe first explain
before claiming?
> I was wondering if anyone else had come across issues with Windows 7/Vista
> and uploading attachments when composing an email?
>
> I am able to reproduce the error on a number of Windows 7 machines, using
> Chrome, IE8 and Mozilla.
>
> When uploading the attachment, it just times out after around 5 minutes.
>
> I am however able to attach files from an XP machine, Server 2003, Ubuntu.

This looks like TCP/IP problem and there is nothing Horde/IMP can do
about it. The latest Microsoft OS are now using "modern" TCP/IP
features like window-scaling,SACK and MTU-discover by default and
there are still broken routers/firewalls around which choke on this.
This is the most supektable reason because as you said all browsers
fail on Vista/7 and work and XP/2003.

You have to use some TCP-dumper to see what is going on.
> You can create groups in Turba and use them when composing mail...

someone could help me?

I could'nt find a script in /var/www/html/horde/turba/scripts/sql to create a
turba DB. I had to use turba.sql and I think it was created without problems.
I'm using postfix and dovecot. I am not using LDAP.

>>>
>>> => So the better the compatibility with MS Outlook, the more people
>>> will actually use Horde, the broader Horde will be installed and the
>>> larger the market share will get.
>>>
>>> So please make sure, that the default is good enough to cover the
>>> (compatibility) needs for the majority.
>>
>> So you need also to include the schema used in Thunderbird, Apple-Mail
>> and maybe Notes for Business-Users??
>> As they are also incompatibel with each other this is not possible at
>> all so you have to decide for your own. Horde/Turba is not a Oulook
>> extension and to break things for others to be compatible with Outlook
>> is not really useful.
>>
>>
>>
>> Regards
>> Andreas
>>
>
> Hi Andreas
>
> Thanks for your response.
>
> I do understand your comments and concerns.
>
> However, the basic set of fields is pretty limited.
>
> Even when not supporting all above mentioned:
>
> => Extending the basic sets to somewhat more useful (less limited),
> would greatly improve the situation.
>
> Here some proposals:
>
> - a third address set 'other' (beside 'home' and 'work')
> - at least 2 more eMail addresses ('email2', 'email3')
> - many more phone numbers ('workphone2', 'homephone2', 'workfax',
> 'homefax', 'other', ...)
> - more urls ('homeurl', 'workurl')
> - and eventually the default eMail and address (to use if not
> specified, don't know the correct wording for it)
>
> The naming of the fields above are just kind of top of my head and
> might need some tweeking to fit the standard.
>
> However, those few additional fields would greatly improve the
> usability of Turba/Horde for people using Outlook, Thunderbird and
> many other apps as well.
> Especially for those, where Horde is installed at an ISP (and the
> end user does not have influence on the fields).
>
> Ideally, the user could configure in the settings, which field
> should be displayed and which ones are not used a lot and therefore
> be hidden.

Let me explain it another way:

For sure you can include as many fields as there are on this planet
but you have to do a choice. Many times the fields are named different
and the number differ from client to client. This is getting ugly if
do SyncML with different clients and mobile devices. So if you have
for example the stupid Outlook schema email1, email2, email3 you have
to somehow map this to the more widespread homeemail, workemail for
example and choose a "default" mailadress.
Therefore every solution which is not Outlook only will only include
the basic set of fields because unpleasent surprises for non Outlook
users will follow otherwise.

> I don't know how much work it will be to implement that.
> But based on the few postings I read (especially on the
> Turba/Outlook2003 page, which unfortunately is not accessible
> anymore), it might be a matter of a few entries in a few files.
>
>
> Please, could you consider to setup some more fields on the default
> settings of Horde/Turba.

I'm no maintainer of Horde/Turba at all, so no, there is anything i
can do about it beside the advice to bother your ISP to adjust the
installation. All tools are there so it is a matter of service from
your ISP.
