Sorry for my english. What I need is basically a newline. I added a "choose
calendars for syncronization"-select box as in turba with an additional
description. This text appears on the same line as the already
existing "choose default calendar" selection, which looks ugly and is
misleading...

I will send the patch to bugs.horde.org. Sorry for working on the old version,
but I did not want to risk my working kolab setup with upgrading horde...

Not sure what you mean with layout. This is supposed to be a
preference, you don't need to do any layout.

ok, it took me several hours, but now I've got the main functionality
implemented. Where can I send the diff to? I modified version 2.3 of
kronolith that comes with the kolab server package, I hope the patch is

Horde is open source. As soon as someone implements this, it will be
available. It's not rocket science either, such a feature already

Hi,

I am still having the same problem with LDAP/SyncML/Turba. I just
realized that the problem is not just limited to SyncML.
I can EXPORT a vcard from my LDAP addressbook, but I cannot IMPORT one.
If I export a vcard and then re-import it (after
changing the name, for example), I get:

just got myself an ipod touch and the synthesis syncml client to
synchronize against a horde-webmail-1.2.4.

It took me a while, but then i figured that with setting
'server' to http://hostname/horde-webmail-1.2.4/rpc.php
and
'server path' to 'calendar'

I was able to synchronize my main-calendar
(that on the server resides under
...horde-webmail-1.2.4/rpc.php/kronolith/me/me.ics )

but how can i address/reach the other calendars with urls like
...horde-webmail-1.2.4/rpc.php/kronolith/devries/xyz.ics

?

is there any magic option to pass on to the server-path to
get to those calendars?

any help appreciated!

No, it wasn't updating entries changed on the phone to the server. Entries
modified on the server would create a new entry on the phone rather than
overwriting the existing one.

In the end, I deleted all the entries on the server and told the client to
reload the server. The client said everything finished OK but the server
address book didn't have any entries (except the single test entry I'd
created).

I haven't really had a chance to have a proper look at it but I did notice
these "add ignored" messages in the sync log. No idea yet why teh add was
ignored though

book. If it is empty, you could try adding a dummy entry before the
sync.

Unfortunately, in my case, this didn't fix the synchronisation
problem. I now just get an "add ignored" message with no error that I
can find

I have recently tested synchronizing my Nokia E66 calendar with Horde
3.3.5 and Kronolith 2.3.2 and it seems to work very nicely.

I wanted to ask, though: I have several calendars created in my Horde.
Is there a way to select which calendar should be synchronized? If
yes, how should it be done?

Would explain the duplicates. Is also fixed in 3.3.6 which is not out
yet. The "server timeout" i have never seen before with Thunderbird
Funambol but i have only used it with around 500 contacts so far.

Funambol Outlook is buggy as hell while the Thunderbird Plugin is much

All,

I am having a lot of issues with attempting to sync horde with either
Thunderbird or Outlook. I am running SME Server 7.4 os with the
following horde components installed:

horde 3.3.4 imp 4.3.4 ingo 1.2.1 kronolith 2.3.2 mnemo 2.2.2 nag 2.3.3
turba 2.3.1

On the client side, the desktop is running Windows XP, with Outlook 2007
SP2 - Funambol Outlook connector 8.0.5, and Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 -
Funambol Mozilla sync 0.91.

When syncing with Outlook, tasks and notes seem to sync without
problems. However, calendar sync causes OutlookPlugin.exe to bugcheck,
and contacts sync fails due to "Sync not completed. Network error."

When syncing with Thunderbird, the calendar sync and the tasks sync
create duplicate records, and recreate deleted records. The contacts
sync (about 2500 contacts) gives a "server timeout" error.

I am trying to figure out whether the problems are related to the horde
(and components) versions, or if the funambol implementations are simply
buggy. Has anyone been able to get funambol working proberly with
Outlook 2007 / Thunderbird?

I think I've seen it when trying to synchronise with an empty address
book. If it is empty, you could try adding a dummy entry before the
sync.

Unfortunately, in my case, this didn't fix the synchronisation
problem. I now just get an "add ignored" message with no error that I
can find

Problem synchronizing LDAP addressbook

Hi,

Turba synchronization used to work for me. I recently did a reinstall of
my server, and I can't get it to work on the new config (with more
recent Horde webmail 1.2.4, openldap 2.4.19, php 5.2.11, etc.). LDAP
access works fine, and I can add LDAP addressbook entries manually with
imp. I am also able to synchronize with non-LDAP address books. But when
I try to synchronize with the LDAP address book, I get a strange error
message:

Xml parse problem

Hello,

I am integrating the Horde SyncML module with an egroupware application
(called "Expresso Livre" - www.expressolivre.org - it's based on eGroupWare,
but without synchronization).

Well, I am experiencing some problems on this integration, more specifically
in the function process

function process($request, $contentType, $respURI);

When I try to sync, the $request is not quite parsed by the php functions

xml_parser_create_ns;
xml_set_object;
xml_set_element_handler;

I noticed that the process runs until the end tag of SyncHdr. After this,
the Xml request is not parsed anymore, and the execution stops on the line:

if (!xml_parse($parser, $request))

I tested the same $request on Horde Webmail, and it was successfully
processed. I need help with this problem... has anyone experienced this
problem with Horde?

The bug mentioned will prevent creating syncml-entries in some cases.
So for the events already synced you create once again duplicates
after applying the patch and no more further because this time the
syncml database will be updated. So if you really want to make sure
the problem is solved you should start from scratch by either reset
your device data or the server data and than sync again.

much time, say: weeks) and check it it duplicates for you

The last time i had problems with duplicates it was
http://bugs.horde.org/ticket/8386. Maybe try the solution listed
there. As far as i can tell the bug introduced in Horde 3.3.4

Hello,

I noticed sometime ago, that I got duplicate events under kronolith. We add
a meeting between universities here, and it appears that they have the same
problems.

Trying to reproduce, I used iPhone Synthesys Todo+Cal+Sync and
Thunderbird+Lightning+Funambol.

In fact, if I try to modify an event entered a few weeks ago and which is
not in the past (haven't try that case), I got duplicates.
Now, if I add an event, synchronise, change it, no duplicates.
I have just to try every day to see when, it begins to duplicate.

What I can say, is that we used to test to different software, synthesys and
funambol and got the same behaviour. So it's an horde related problem. And
it's very annoying for the staff here.

Has somebody an explanation and a solution..

A contact birthday in the events table? That's interesting. If your
phone is really synching its contacts with the remote calendar, then
it should use different UIDs for synchings with the calendar and the
address book.
As you already found out, we have a mapping table that maps the UIDs
on the device with the UIDs in Horde. This is a 1-to-1-mapping. So, if
the device decides to use the same UID for two different objects
(which, ironically, no longer makes it a UID), on the object would fail.
If this is really the case, then I consider this device pretty broken.

I thought I had it installed. Sorry. I'll install it today. Good to see it's on the wishlist though. Since I'm not using CVS, is there a way to install this? I don't see a tar.gz to download.

I have not been able to troubleshoot this at all.

It is not necessarily that they drop support for SIF but sometimes its
simply the lack of quality at least for the Outlook client (don't know
about Blackberry). One example is http://bugs.horde.org/ticket/8474.

Try with some nearly empty database first and find out if it is maybe
some reccuring event or some special chars which get the client
crashing.

this issue too, running Funambol 8.0.4/Horde 3.3.5/Blackberry 9630
4.7.1.30 Simulator. I'm guessing there are plans on updating Horde to
respond with vcards to the Funambol client in Horde 3.3.x? As it is, I
need to patch our Horde setup as the Funambol client crashes with a JVM
Error on my Simulator if I try to connect to our Horde/Turba install and
synchronize contacts. 8.0.4 client works just fine if I connect to
my.funambol.com though.

I guess I'll try to get Funambol 7.1 working for our clients; I seem to
have a similar crash with Funambol 7.2.3. Did they just drop SIF
support there too? If so, love their definition of "smoothly phased
out"!

That message is pretty clear. But it wouldn't cause the sychronization
to fail. It just skips that record.

Mobile devices are really lame when it comes to useful error messages
or even debugging problems. All you can do is to check the wiki how to
report SyncML problems.

You didn't set up a VFS backend in your Horde configuration, which is

Hi

I need help debugging an sync issue. My phone is a Sony Ericsson. The Contacts synced perfectly (148) but the Calendar seemed to fail on 27/43 (mostly birthdays).

The last line in the horde.log is:

Without doing a manual check against every single appointment - how can I see which one caused the sync to fail? The phone just dies with Operation Failed - The Server Answer was invalid.

Also, it would be nice to be able to sync the Bookmarks - the phone supports this DB, but Horde doesn't seem to (yet)..

Finally, on an unrelated issue there is also this in the log every 5 minutes, but I can't find anything on google about it - I don't believe it's related, but if you can point me in the right direction to fix, that would be great.

I've reinstalled from source (though my horde version is still showing 3.1.4 disconcertingly and when hitting rpc.php nothing shows up in the logs at all but I'll work on it and start a new thread with other issues).

This is not necessary. That entry was a misleading user contribution
to the wiki. I cleaned up the SyncHowTo page a bit, so it should be
more clearer now.

Frankly, it wouldn't hurt to point out in that remark that the Debian packages are out-dated and that posters with issues shouldn't expect support for them. You know they are out of date. We users don't necessarily.

I'm aware of that. But having them provide outdated packages can't help you. So it's in your interests to point this out.

Which page in the wiki? The one that says "Make sure you have a recent
(stable or CVS) version of the framework"?

We don't provide distribution packages. The distribution maintainers do.n

That of course your choice. But then you will have to live with the
features and bugs of the version that the distribution provides, and
with the support they can give you for such an old version.
Both reasons are perfectly valid, it's your call what's more important to you.

Sure it does, and I don't see a reason why it shouldn't, now or in the
past. Read docs/UPGRADING for upgrading instructions.
