Housing for interns at the complex.Hello, this is Simon from theComplex, I'm writing on behalf of 3 interns we are hosting
over the summer 2 of whom are from WPI, and one who is from MIT. Ilan is a recent graduate of WPI in electrical engineering and computer science, and his significant other Tatiana who is studying urban planning and architecture. Andrea is from MIT and has a background in computer science. If you haven't had the pleasure of getting to know these remarkable people I suggest you drop in and introduce yourself to them. Initially housing was secured for them across the street from the complex, however the quality of the housing is sure to fail any health standard, as the building is riddled with cock roaches, and various dying insects. The final nail in the habitability of the apartments was a flood into their main living area. Apparently the building was not built to withstand our nice wet summer. The present apartment is really unfit for human living, and they have been roughing it by sleeping on the floor there using an air mattresses, and one smaller mattress that was "probably as soft as a air mattress"! It was decided that it is time to find something decent; here we have some of the brightest minds around and I think it our duty as a community to come up with something better, more fit for human habitation that will inspire the creative juices we seek to nutre in theComplex environnment. So that they can enjoy Santa Fe, and the wonderful culture of the SW. We are seeking a 2-3 bedroom furnished place that has nice ambiance such that it inspires creativity; secure warm welcoming place where you can see your self doing something remarkable sitting with a laptop and and some nice espresso or tea thinking about the vast explorations of ones mind. The place should have a 2-3 mile walkability range to the complex and have ASAP availability, and be available to the end of August. There are funds that that may be used to cover the expenses of the housing to compensate for a nice stable place. -Simon. P.S. BTW (By The Way) don't forget to check out projected light tonight at the complex, a wonderful group of people including work by three of our interns whereby they created a agent based model mapped on a Marble Sculpture by Paul Block that is absolutely stunning; hope to see you guys get out and enjoy the artistry and visions of the hard working community at theComplex. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss@... http://lists.sfcomplex.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss http://www.nabble.com/sfComplex-Discuss-f33403.html |
