How can I use 'newer' version of Intel X drivers?I have a problem with my 9.04 [x]ubuntu system and the Intel graphics
drivers. It seems to be pretty exactly the problem desribed at:- https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/375545 Since a new version of the Intel drivers seems to fix the problem (9.04 provides 2.6.3, fix is in 2.7.1) it would seem that if I install the later drivers it should solve my problem. Can anyone tell me how I go about getting the newer Intel display drivers please. -- Chris Green -- ubuntu-users mailing list ubuntu-users@... Hi, For my part, I simply installed 2.6.30 Linux kernel: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.30/linux-image-2.6.30-020630-generic_2.6.30-020630_i386.deb and http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.30/linux-headers-2.6.30-020630_2.6.30-020630_all.deb Vincent -- ubuntu-users mailing list ubuntu-users@... I'm pretty sure you need both. I got the driver by adding this ppa: $ cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/xorg.list deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates/ubuntu jaunty main -- derek -- ubuntu-users mailing list ubuntu-users@...
