How or what does mailgraph count

I wanted to find out if mailgraph counts rejects that I do via postfix using
a blocked ip list.  It generates a 554 message.  Just so I understand the
counting process, what is mailgraph counting for RRD?  I have been doing
some tweaking to my postfix config, rejecting unknown and invalid host
names, etc.
As a side note, thanks for mailgraph David.
