How to Install JRuby 1.1.6 in Netbeans

I have tried to install latest JRuby by extracting to the ruby2
directory but receive message that jruby.bat is not recognised as a
jruby platform.
What is the method for installing latest JRuby into a netbeans
environment.  I am using one of the latest stable builds from hudson.
(#4651) which still uses JRuby 1.1.4.

Thanks
Paul Fraser

Hi Paul,

it should work as usually[1]. And I've just checked and it works for me
on Linux (JRuby 1.1.6 and trunk (1.1.7)). Cannot try on Windows right
know. But what are we running on the background is something like:

   /path/to/jruby.bat $NB_INSTALLATION/ruby2/platform_info.rb

If this passes and outputs correct informations it should pass in
NetBeans as well. Could you check this or provide detailed logs:

Thanks,

Hi Martin,

I have found all works ok if I install 1.1.6 outside the netbeans dir
structure.
That is, do not extract to "C:\Users\paul\dev\netbeans\ruby2\jruby1.1.6
but to "C:\Users\paul\dev\jruby1.1.6

No idea why, but it works.

Regards
Paul Fraser

This is the "more correct" way to be sure it works. I though you
originally tried this, but...

...this should work as well, I think. I've filed for this case:

Thanks for the catch,
