How to get staden 1.6.0 running under Mac OS X 10.3.9

Hi folks,

i want to install staden 1.6.0 under Mac OS X 10.3.9. X11 is already
installed and i downloaded the current release of the staden package from
their website. But what to do next? Can anyone give me a step-by-step
instruction what to do or something like a best practice guide to get staden
running for all my users on one mac. I read something about adding lines to
the .bashrc config file.
