How can track data be exported from an old Garmin GPS V?

My purpose is to Geotag photographs.

I think gpsbabel supports this via 'garmin' format over serial.

This site has code that I have been using (garmin-utils, garload and
gardump) with a GPS-V:

  http://www.snafu.org/

It is on my todo list to write reader/write for gardump format for
gpsbabel - I have a lot of saved tracks/waypoints in gardump format.

Yes, GPSBabel supports the GPS V.

There was a guy working on a gardump module some time ago, but I don't see any submitted patch.
