How to model a wire (suture) that keeps something under tension

I want to build a model of a meniscus prothesis that is attached to the tibia. The prothesis has an extrusion that fits into a hole in the bone, and a very strong suture goes through the prothesis, extrusion and bone, and is attached at the other end of the bone and at the prothesis. For a picture I made visit this site:

The bone and implant/prothesis are all 3D models, and they look fine to me as they are now.
The problem is that I don't know how to model the suture/wire.

It's important that the wire is attached on top of the implant, and goes though it, and 'pulls' it into the bone, sort of. (or at least prevents it from moving out of the bone. A large part of the motion in the implant should be affected by the presence of the wire.

Can someone give me some advise?
