How to popup a widget in nautilus extension ?

I am trying to write an extension for nautilus.
Is there anyway of poping up a widget above the status bar in nautilus ?
< Like <Control>f popup the search box in firefox >

No. The current set of extension points is rather limited. If you want
to do something more complex you need to also work on extending nautilus
to add such extensibility atm.
