How to reduce the default window size?

Hi,

When I type ctrl+- in nautilsu, the window will be zoomed out. But I
want to keep it as the default? Is there a way to do it?

Regards,
Peng

Edit -> Preferences and then change the default zoom level for the view
you are using.

Best regards,

Bruce

I don't see "Preferences" in "Edit". I have the following version of
nautilus, which is built from source by myself. I didn't change any
compile options. Why I don't see "Preferences"?

$ nautilus --version
GNOME nautilus 2.28.0

Does anybody know how to figure out what causes that I don't have
'Edit->Preferences' in nautilus?

Run Nautilus in a console, and watch out for any warnings. Maybe you did
not install all UI description files in the correct path.

If that does not help, maybe you could post the entries in your Edit
menu? This helps us to trace down the source of the missing menu item.

You also wrote about other issues with your Nautilus installation [1],
which suggests that there is a fundamental flaw with your custom
installation. When compiling packages yourself, you are on your own.
Maybe you should wait until your distributor packages GNOME 2.28? Most
distributors ship 2.28 packages in their upcoming releases.
