IDL Highlighting source in Gedit

Hi All,


I have one recommendation concerning the highlighting  of IDL source in Gedit.
The current (2.20.4) IDL source highlight is just a crap. Gedit is not able to
recognize any ILD command and syntax. Only words under quotes " are
highlighted. As the IDL java environment development does (www.ittvis.com), it
could be very useful to improve that aspect of Gedit.
I can provide the list of IDL commands if it is helpful.

with IDL source code. A good Idea would be to look at source code of kwrite and
port this feature into Gedit. I can at least look at kwrite code and try to
figure out how it deals with highlighting.  Anyway, I am not a programmer, so
is there anywhere some tutorial of any help about Gedit patches ?

Have a look at: http://git.gnome.org/cgit/gtksourceview/tree/gtksourceview/language-specs/pascal.lang
you can have that for all context with:

  <default-regex-options case-sensitive="false"/>
