Hi folks
I have the following setup:
Windows Vista 64
IIS7 (with all features switched on, ie. IIS 6 Management
compatibility, console, scripts and tools, service, all the
application development features, the whole deal) (c:\inetpub\wwwroot)
Coldfusion 8 developer edition running as its own server (c:
\ColdFusion8)
I can add sites to c:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot and view then in the browser
AOK (earlier today I installed farcry v5 and got it up and running in
a matter of seconds) (typically via a URL like
http://localhost:8500/<sitename>)
I can create new site entries within IIS, with the website files
stored anywhere on my PC, create host headers (I edited the 'hosts'
file at c:\ windows\system32\drivers\etc), and view them AOK (html/asp/
asp.net) (typically via
http://mytestsite etc), all except for
coldfusion driven sites which simply throw a 404.3 error in the
browser.
Within my website entry in IIS, I added a mime handler for .cfm and
set the MIME type to text/html, and I can now view the coldfusion
site, however the site is basically treated as a plain HTML site with
all the coldfusion code stripped out.
Does anyone know how I can get IIS to use Coldfusion 8 together to
service coldfusion sites?
Perhaps I have the MIME type incorrect, or need to add a handler
mapping within IIS to point to Jrun or something?
All this just so that I can create my own host headers and add a
friendly URL rewrite mod(!)
Any info much appreciated
B
