If you wanted a programmable thermostat: cheap HAI RC-80 on ebay

If you were thinking about getting one, they can be a bit hard to find
but ebay has one right now (not mine).

You'll need to run Cat-5 (or at least 3 wires) to your thermostat to
read the data on your serial port.

I really like the Aprilaire tstats as they can tell you when they are  
running. The HAI stats I had didn't do that and required I add another  
sensor. The Aprilaire tstats require more parts to get to the RS-232  
output so the HAI's are easier to install. I have an Aprilaire xPL  
gateway that will talk to the tstats and send xPL messages which  
Misterhouse can send or receive. See http://www.iranger.com.

That's great! My Omni tstats talked to my HAI Omni security system and  
I suspect it was a limitation of the security system not tell me that  
data then. Good to know.
