Mauve

Chartreuse

And of course "the color out of space" and "the color of magic" (Lovecraft
and Pratchett, respectively).

Chris's suggestion is a good one,  'oust'

But

 if it were universally adopted

how would we then describe the imaginary compass bearing that navigators follow when they get lost?

In case anyone thinks I have lost the thread there is an almost complete image in what I wrote.

Windigo -- gale force blue

Cryan -- the color of tears

Shamcrock green -- politician's breath (also decietian, fibium,
bullian blue and pretentious red)

According to my contacts in the industry, Dupont is on the verge of
marketing  their long sought striped paint  in three basic colors. The
first two products will be called bleen (blue-green-blue stripe)  and
blite (Black-white-black stripe).  Dupont will continue to develop the
third release, whack, as demand dictates.

Andy,

This might inspire them:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synesthesia_in_art

Hue, value, and chroma are the most acurate but least fun terms to
describe color. I'd like to know what colors splat!, crunch!, and boing!
are. I'll bet Kaindinski knew.

I heard about Oust many years ago when my team developed Unichrome which is the sum of all possible colors and the true white. An object that is Unichrome appears white no matter what color the light is that you shine on it. At the time though we were trying to develope a non-stick cooking spray so we just shelved the Unichrome stuff and it go destroyed during an office Christmas party later that year. Man, that was a good party.

Havana.  As in Cuba.  A dark melancholy color, much like the rust stains around the pipes emerging the tile floor in the bar bathroom, where I came to consciousness after multiple shots of Bacardi fed to me by the Queen Princess of the Night, as she was called.  Oh, Queen!   Where did you go?   And where is my Rolex and my wallet?

Aaaghua...the shade of blue used for sickeningly sweet icing on cupcakes for
children's birthday parties.
Mudge ...a brownish color with strange green overtones.
