Our development  team currently uses Artifactory as the repository server – configured with tomcat and default derby database.. I have set up a logins for each developer in the team using the artifactory security users list.

Since we started our development, the team grew and we started relying more and more on the Artifactory server… and observed that tomcat and derby is not holding that great.. so we decided to configure artifactory with jboss and MySql database on a totally different Linux server to make it more robust. I exported the repository and had no problems with it.. the only unknown thing for me is how to export the “Users” to this new server.. I do not want to create all the users manually.. is there a way to export just the user information (along with their passwords and other related stuff)?

Thanks.
Raghu

In a standard export/import the security DB is dumped and reloaded. The file containing user information is security.xml (it should appears in backup folders also).
For extracting or updating the security DB you can use the "security" command in the artadmin tool: http://wiki.jfrog.org/confluence/display/RTF/The+artadmin+Command+Line+Tool
We use it to synchronize users accross multiple Artifactory.

And in 2.1, we even allow this through the UI - by copying the security xml from one Artifactory instance and pasting it in the admin UI of another instance.
