Increase max number of iterations

Hello Friends,
i'm doing a simulation in octave which calculates in many iterations. unfortunately Octave stops all 4 houres and i hav to restart the calculation manually. It continues as it should, but i would prefer if i could run it through the night without stops.
The error massage is "number of maximal iterations exeeded (at windows)" or "warning  broken pipe (at Mac)".
Is there a way to increase the maximum number of iterations?
Any help is welcome, i would be glad.
