About 4D and Mac OS X Snow Leopard
Apple's latest operating system release, Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow
Leopard" is now available.
For 4D v11 SQL Users
4D v11 SQL is optimized for the latest hardware and software, including
Mac OS X. That means the speed and stability improvements coming in
Snow Leopard will soon be felt in 4D. We're working hard with Apple to
ensure that the entire 4D v11 SQL product line and the solutions you
create with it will be Snow Leopard certified. We'll inform you as soon
as the certification is complete.
For 4D 2004 Users
The 4D 2004 product line has entered its "Sunset" phase. This means
that there will be no further development, nor any new OS testing and
certification. While 4D 2004-based solutions may continue to work with
future OS updates, possibly in compatibility mode, 4D cannot certify
their performance.
If you have 4D 2004 systems in production that you cannot quickly
upgrade to 4D v11 SQL, we advise that you perform testing before
installing any new OS versions. As previously announced, we also
recommend purchasing additional licenses as soon as possible as prices
will increase on September 15th.
Focus on the Future
To ensure the performance and stability you've come to expect with each
new release, we have committed our resources to the development of
current and future versions of 4D.
