Installing Abaqus CAE 6.9 on Windows 7 64Bit

Hi,

Does anybody know if it's possible to install Abaqus CAE 6.9 64Bit onto a Windows 7 64Bit PC. The Abaqus installer claimed to see a 32Bit Windows and exited... (but for sure it's Windows 7 64Bit!). Is there any workaround?

Many thanks in advance!

BR,
Andy

Use a VM Machine (i.e. VMWare Workstation on Win XP 64bit) and try. I'm
sorry but I don't have a 64bit PC :(

Hi Nicholas,

That is not the solution I'm looking for. I know that a VM will work, but due to performance and maintenance reasons I want to install Abaqus directly onto Windows7 64Bit.

Of course I know, but my solution is only temporary.
First you can try it on a VM and you can see if it works.
Secondly, if it works well, you can install on your machine with Win 7
64bit.

Even if I suggest you to install Abaqus on a Linux machine. I'm using it on
a 64bit Ubuntu Linux and it's awesome!

Bye

Hi Nicholas,

I'm having the same problem; did you find a workaround (other than running VM)?
