Installing Mandriva 2009 on a ProLiant 8500 server

Hi All

Sanity check - should Mandriva 2009 (32-bit) install on a Compaq ProLiant 8500 server (8x Intel Pentium III Xeon @ 700MHz; 16GB RAM)?  It won't go past "Booting the kernel" from the install CD.
