Hi all,

I just bought a 6 button KeypadLinc.  Can anyone please confirm this
layout:

Top ON button -> xx.xx.xx:01
Bottom OFF    -> xx.xx.xx:02
A button      -> xx.xx.xx:03
B button      -> xx.xx.xx:04
C button      -> xx.xx.xx:05
D button      -> xx.xx.xx:06

Or does the A button start at :02?

Thanks
George

And I just got an 8-button KeypadLinc, so if we could get the layout for both, that would be great.

Thanks!

The quick way to make sure is to just push the buttons after pairing to the
PLM and see what codes you get in the log :)

Off button is like On, it's :01 (two buttons on the same Id)

6 buttons looks like this (6 buttons but 5 Ids)
IPLL,   11.E1.9D:01,    mbr_kpl,                All_Lights,             PLM,
IPLL,   11.E1.9D:02,    mbr_kpl_mbr_lamp3,      mbr_kplB|buttons,       PLM,

IPLL,   11.E1.9D:05,    mbr_kpl_kplE,           mbr_kplE|buttons,       PLM,

8 buttons looks like that (8 buttons, 8 Ids)
IPLL,   0E.07.49:01,    fmr_kpl,         All_Lights|fmr_both,

Okay according to that A-D is 02-05.  I've just looked through some of
the mail list stuff and one had button A (I assume) on 03 so I was
starting to get a bit confused.  Below was from an email on the list.

# 6-Button KeypadLinc
IPLL, 0B.4C.0F:01, Garage_Light, All_Lights|Outside, plm
IPLL, 0B.4C.0F:03, Living_Room_Button, Buttons, plm
IPLL, 0B.4C.0F:04, Dining_Room_Button, Buttons, plm
IPLL, 0B.4C.0F:05, Family_Room_Button, Buttons, plm
IPLL, 0B.4C.0F:06, Kitchen_Button, Buttons, plm

Cheers

Okay this is weird, my mht file shows this:

# 6 Button KeypadLinc
IPLL,  12.BD.CA:01, backdoor_light, All_Lights|Outside, plm
IPLL,  12.BD.CA:02, backdoor_button_A, buttons, plm
IPLL,  12.BD.CA:03, backdoor_button_B, buttons, plm
IPLL,  12.BD.CA:04, backdoor_button_C, buttons, plm
IPLL,  12.BD.CA:05, backdoor_button_D, buttons, plm

# Backdoor scene
IPLL, plm:01, backdoor_scene, scenes, plm
SCENE_MEMBER, carport_recpt, backdoor_scene, 100%, 0.1s
SCENE_MEMBER, carport_recpt, backdoor_button_A, 100%, 0.1s
SCENE_MEMBER, backdoor_button_A, backdoor_scene

The link table shows this:

11/05/09 03:31:58 PM [Insteon_PLM] ALL-Link Record
Response:0257a20212bdca000000
11/05/09 03:31:58 PM [Insteon_PLM] Parsing serial data: 026a15

11/05/09 03:31:58 PM [Insteon_PLM] responder record to
$backdoor_button_A(02) (d1=00, d2=00, d3=00)
11/05/09 03:32:00 PM: Saving object states ... done

but the web interface shows buttons A,C and D as "-> Unk" and button B
as "OFF" which I take as button B is the only one linked but.....

I've deleted orphaned links, I've scanned all link tables, I've run sync
all links.

I'm totally confused now.

Cheers
George

The 8-button keypadlinc is obvious (:1-:8). The 6-button that I have
works like George's (a=3, b=4, c=5, d=6) - perhaps two different
versions exist? Just create a scene that toggles button 3 and see if
that lights up A or B.

I just got home, was doing this all remotely.  The scene doesn't work
and indeed no log information shows up when I press any of the A,B,C or
D buttons.  Seems the plm doesn't see them.

Cheers

Yes I've changed it back to A = 03 and it works, now all I need to do is
try get the light on the A key synced.  It seems my scene doesn't quite
work.

Cheers and thanks for the confirmation, I'll update the wiki with this
as it is sure to cause all manor of confusion.

George,

The ON/OFF function uses :01

:02 is not used (not sure why)

A Button starts with :03

Argh, I may just be the one who has it wrong. I only have one KPL with 6
buttons and now that you mention it I wasn't able to auto sync pairings to
it.

It actually makes sense because the dip switch under A is actually button #3
if you use the 8 button mapping.

Sorry for the misinformation.
