Mauro's predicament is not unique. There really is no well supported
unrestricted open source TCP stack for the Coldfires. The license on
OpenTCP is far from clear implying that it is both open and not so. The
InterNiche license is very restrictive. As a consequence, developers
have shied away from both these solutions.
However, there is a 3rd alternative: Dunkel's lwIP. It enjoys a broad
constituency with ample peer support. I also believe work has already
been done on porting this stack to the Coldfires.
I am wondering if we can put together a group of interested individuals
who would be prepared to work on lwIP for the Coldfires? Or,
alternately, a group of companies and individuals who would be prepared
to fund one or more contractors to support lwIP for the Coldfires?
