InternetAdvancement and PackMaster

I just checked our InternetAdvacnment, and it's a bit out of date with our PackMaster totals. Most scouts are correctly listed with their rank badges, but none of their arrow points or other awards (webelos awards, outdoor activity award, whittling chip, etc).

couple of questions
1. i ran a 4403 report in PackMaster, and it showed all of these and more (belt loops as well), but the ADV##.csv file ONLY has the rank dates - none of the web badges or special award or arrow points. can they NOT be uploaded this way?

2. when i do the 'upload advancement file' in the internet advancement page, does it have to contain all scouts for a time period? or can i just do a den at a time, in addition to or instead of a time-period at a time? i'm assuming so, that IA will only update the awards for the people in the file, but just wanted to confirm..

thx.bri.

Not really.  However, they can't really be uploaded using the web
front end either.  Unless things have changed recently, Internet
advancement only stores ranks and merit badges (and Cub Scouts don't
earn merit badges).  This is a limitation in the types of data that
the underlying ScoutNet system stores.  Essentially, other advancement
data enters a black hole.  For what it's worth, if you turned in the
paper forms to the council office for them to enter, they probably
didn't enter anything other than ranks and merit badges either, since
there isn't anywhere in the system for them to store the other
information.

This should be OK.  You can only add advancement using Internet
Advancement.  Once a report has been finalized, there is no way for
you to remove a badge (accidentally or otherwise) from a Scout's
record using Internet Advancement.

Internet Adv. does track Web. badges... but as Todd said, you may have to do that manually.  In our district, if I just email the pdf 4403 file to the Council, and do the internet Adv. myself, that's enough... or you can ask the District staff member to enter it all... it probably depends on your council how they want it done.  I don't trust IA to do the csv upload anyway, so I do it myself.  I still email the report to the council b/c she makes sure it's in her report, etc.

I think someone's confused here...

In your District? Or in your Council? I think you mean in your Council...as it's not the District's responsability. It is the Council Staff's, not the District's Staff's responsability to enter any Advancement Records. It is the Council Registrar's in most Councils.

I think you're confusing the two terms or levels of of the Organizational structure.

YES Ken, I'm sorry... I thought I went back and fixed all of my "districts" to "council", but I apparently didn't... yes COUNCIL.
