Introduction and some initial question

Hello Pebble People,

My name is Chris and I'm currently tossing up between Pebble and
Apache Roller as the target to which I migrate my current blog. I'm
largely a C and C++ programmer but of the higher level languages Java
is the one I'm most familiar with. So my current web setup is largely
based on a Java tech stack, Tomcat etc. I have MySQL available but
don't see a burning need to use it for my blog. I suppose what's going
to matter to me the most initially is ease of easy of importing data,
simplicity of daily use and themability.

I'm currently evaluating Roller and it seems to be pretty complex
codebase wise for the number of features it has. Importing data is a
disaster with no straight forward means of importing data and I have
no idea about portability yet. So I'm not completely sold on Roller.

As an initial foray into Pebble I'm curious to hear suggestions on how
I might get my post data from Blogger into Pebble. Blogger exports to
XML which I understand is how Pebble stores it data - so perhaps a
simple transform?

Thanks for any suggestions in advance!

Chris K.

I moved my data into Pebble from a combination of a MovableType blog and
a Roller blog.  Pebble can read MT exports, so if you can get your data
into that format it should be relatively easy.  Pebble has a MT importer
included in the distro but I wrote my own custom importer that attempted
to fix up the links in the old posts on the way in before loading them
into Pebble - it's completely specific to my situation and very hacky so
I haven't made it available, but I have made a parser for MT exports
available at:

I also have
