Is GpsDrive need internet connection to work with gps receiver and gpsd

Hi,
           I installed gpsd and gpsdrive in my laptop. I am using ubuntu 8.10 operating system. My gpsd working fine but gpsdrive not showing any tracking data.Here gpsstatus is showing 2D fix and getting latitude and longitude values also.
Why my gps drive is not working?
Is any internet connection needed to work with gpsdrive?
Please help me.
