Is Windows the only possibility for Nokia J2ME development ?

I wrote an SVG graphics application and got it working nicely in the DefaultColorPhone emulator. Then tried it in my phone (Nokia 6220). It installed ok and runs but doesn't work correctly ( doesn't draw all graphics etc.). What might be the way forward? Are there any hints as what to change to make it work better in my Nokia target?
Do I have to go to Windows if I want to run the application in a Nokia emulator? Or are there other possibilities. I'm using Netbeans that I'm running in Ubuntu Linux (that again is running in VBox in my x86 Mac).

I guess only one resalable way to keep Mac/Linux/Solaris as a primary OS
and use Nokia Java ME  emulators is to run Windows under VirtualBox. I'm
not aware of any other usable solution.
