Issues adding movies on version 1.1100Hello Everyone,
My search for a usable DVD authoring program on Linux has landed me here. But I am having some issues even getting started. On the following window, I click on the "Add/Organize Videos" button: http://www.afolkey2.net/~steve/QDVDAuthor-Screenshots-0001.jpg Here is the window that opens up: http://www.afolkey2.net/~steve/QDVDAuthor-Screenshots-0002.jpg >From that windows I browse to the first group of videos that I want to add. Here is a screenshot: http://www.afolkey2.net/~steve/QDVDAuthor-Screenshots-0003.jpg (On that screenshot, one of the thumbnails is missing. On my system at least, this appears to be a random issue.) I select all of the thumnails. Here is a screenshot of what that looks like: http://www.afolkey2.net/~steve/QDVDAuthor-Screenshots-0004.jpg I then proceed to click "OK" The result looks like this: http://www.afolkey2.net/~steve/QDVDAuthor-Screenshots-0005.jpg Of course, that is exactly what I wanted. BUT, when I attempt to add more videos, using the same method described above, USUALLY nothing happens. Meaning that no videos are added. I say USUALLY nothing happens, because sometimes I am able to add a second group of videos, but I have never been able to add any more than that. I have not been able to see if there is any rhyme or reason to my intermittent success at add more than the initial group of videos. My system configuration is as follows: Intel Xeon 2.0GHZ QuadCore CPU 8 Gigs of RAM NVidia Video card, using the proprietary NVidia driver. The card has 512MB of RAM on it. 2 320GB SATA Harddrives Any help you can give me (or that I can give you) is greatly appreciated. Steven P. Re: Issues adding movies on version 1.1100Steven,
I like your screenshot tours. It makes it soooooo much easier for me to help you :) In order to add more groups you can use the drag'n drop interface in the files dialog. You might want to watch to explain how to use the FewClickWizard http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fz0r05yfgcw Or if you want to manually create the DVD ... hmmm, you know what, I have not yet created a video on how to use the DIalogFiles, and DialogImages dialogs yet ... shame on me. I'll do this the next couple of days. in the meantime the FewClickWIzard - video above will also show the usage of the two dialogs in question ( for videos and or images/slideshows ) Varol :) Ps, let me know if you need more help. Hello Varol I first tried the above using QDVDAuthor built from a fresh copy from CVS on September 23rd. Clicking on the "Project Wizard" icon (the same icon that I saw clicked in your video on YouTube) resulted in an IMMEDIATE segmentation fault. Right now I am building again from a brand new copy, this time I chose to add the debug information. I'll try that version again later. So, I tried an older version: 1.0900. This time I got farther :) I browsed to my first group of videos, selected all of them, and clicked "Okay" So I clicked on "Add/Group Videos" again to add some more videos. Again, I clicked "Okay" This time no videos were added. Since I did not know if I was supposed to click "Finish" and go through the same steps again, I clicked "Finish" The result was a segmentation fault. Something appeared to be about to happen in the GUI, but the segfault happened to quickly for me to take a screenshot of it. So, I'm going to try all of this again with the new build I just did that has the debug information added... I'll email you again when I find out what happens. Steven P. Also which Linux version are you using ? Thanks again, Varol Okan Steven P. Ulrick wrote: >>> Steven, >>> >>> I like your screenshot tours.
