You could use Jess to do all sorts of analysis on email data. You
would want to use some 3rd-party API (JavaMail?) to extract the
metadata about each email -- to/from/date/subject/keywords etc. -- and
then store whatever information you expect to be relevant into Jess's
working memory for rules to act on.
