This year our friend Jason Morris is hosting a "Jess Boot Camp" in
conjunction with the October Rules Fest, which will be held in Dallas/
Ft Worth, Texas, USA on October 25th-26th. This will be an intensive,
two-day immersion in Jess programming by the best Jess instructor in
the business. If you're serious about getting started with Jess, this
is the place to be.
If you're not already attending the conference, you can register just
for the boot camp for a small fee. A special hotel rate is still
available. See http://www.octoberrulesfest.org/ for more information.

Are there any other "Jess Boot Camps" planned?

Hi Bob,

The boot camp was really a last-minute idea in support of the October
Rules Fest 2009 conference.  The emphasis was placed not just on
learning Jess per se, but on learning Jess in the context of solving a
real application development problem in some domain.  This is similar
to what I do in my formal Jess training classes.  By all indications,
it was very successful.  However, I don't have the facilities to offer
these on a regular basis.  I suppose the next official Jess boot camp
isn't until ORF 2010!  :-)

That said, let me pose a few questions to the Jess User group:

If I were to create a "boot camp" series of video "shorts" on using
Jess, would people:
  [ ] Not use them.
[ ] Use them only if they were free.
[ ] Use them for a nominal contribution.
[ ] Actually purchase them (assuming a professional production value).

BTW -- If you are a Jess user and know of someone who doesn't frequent
this list but is contemplating using Jess, please feel free to forward
this email to him/her.

Cheers,
Jason
